Margarita C. Colon of East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Juan Colon, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Born 100 years ago on May 21, 1925 in Anasco, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Antonio and Eugenia (Mercado) Candelaria.

Margarita leaves her devoted daughter Margarita Carrero and son-in-law Adolfo Carrero whom cared for her until the end of her journey here on earth. Daughter-in-laws Francisca Colon, Lydia Colon and son-in-law Eufemio Feliciano and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Margarita was predeceased by her daughter Mariana Feliciano and her three sons Francisco Colon, Juan Colon Jr and Pedro Colon and brothers Domingo Mendez, Santo Candelaria and sister Josefa Roman.

Funeral service for Margarita will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11am at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
