The Life of Maria Teresa Cruz

Maria Teresa Cruz born in Paloma Comerio, Puerto Rico in 1923 the oldest of six children.

She worked at a chicken factory and the tabacco fields earning .50 cents a day to support her 11 children as her husband was overseas in the military. Life was very difficult in Puerto Rico during those times making minimal earnings to support family of that size, so she and her husband Cheo Cruz ventured to the United States 1967 for a better life and settled in Hartford, CT.

She worked at the maverick factory in Bloomfield for numerous years and loved volunteering at the senior centers helping in the kitchen, along with attending Sacred Heart Church in Hartford with all the children each Sunday.

What kept her going all these 99 years was the LOVE and devotion of her children and grandchildren, along with having her favorite "BUDWEISER BEER" 2 each night before going to bed 😊

She will now reunite with her two sons Hector and Junior who have been waiting for their mother to join them up in Heaven.

To carry on Maria Teresa Cruz's legacy are her devoted, loving children, Carmin, Amelia, Wanda, Sonia, Josian, Carlos, Gilberto, Raphael and Miguel along with many loving grandchildren.

Dear God, At the moment, nothing seems to be able to help the loss that we feel, our hearts are broken and our spirit mourns.  All I know is that your grace is sufficient. The day, this hour, moment by moment, we choose to lean on you. For when we are at our weakest, your strength is strongest. We pour out our grief to you. And praise you that on one glorious day, when all suffering is extinguished, and love has conquered, we shall walk together again.
