Maria D. Torres, 71, of Hartford passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022, at her home with her loved ones. She was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Mariano Torres, Jr., and Candida Torres-Morales

Maria spent many years working at Vulcan Industries as a manufacturer.  She was a strong intelligent woman that would do anything for the people she loved.  Maria "Cuca" loved spending time with her grandson Xavier, enjoyed cooking and loved music.  Family was everything to her and she embraced and welcomed everyone she met.

She leaves her life partner of 35 years Angel L. Berrios-Colon Jr. and her son Edieberto Torres, her grandson Xavier Lorenzo Torres. She also leaves 5 brothers: Ramon, Angel, Jose, Martin and David and 3 sisters Mercedes, Maggie and Julie and 3 godchildren Alfredo, Victor and Stephanie.  She joins her late brother Luis and her sisters Carmen and Ana along with her beloved dogs Onyx and Mugsy

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 11, 2022, 11:00 am at St. Augustine Church 10 Campfield Ave, Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visiting hours will be held before the mass, from 9 to 10:30 am, at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, CT
