Maria Karabetsos, 49, of Newington passed away Friday January 12, 2018. Maria was the daughter of Demetra (Tsakiris) Karabetsos and the late Soterios (Sam) Karabetsos. Besides her mother, Maria leaves behind her two brothers; John of Newington, and Michael and his wife Dawn of Manchester, along with their children James, Ashley, and Ryan. She also leaves behind many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss her greatly. Maria graduated from Wethersfield High School and was a former employee of Bingham McCutchen. Most recently, Maria worked with her mother and brother at Ashley's Restaurant in Hartford. She would greet customers and friends everyday with her beautiful smile. Maria enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with her niece and nephews. She loved them with all her heart. She was loved so much by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 5-8 PM, with a Trisayion service at 6PM, at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Avenue Hartford, CT. Burial will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
