Maria Melcon, 90, of Rocky Hill, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Manguito, Matanzas, Cuba daughter of the late Carlos and Modesta Paula (Gonzalez) Melcon and had lived in the Hartford area since 1987. She is survived by 2 brothers, Bernardo Melcon and his companion Christina of FL, and Genaro Melcon and his wife Violeta of Hartford, three sisters, Cristobalina Melcon, of Rocky Hill Aida Melcon of Cuba and Clotilde Chavez of Rocky Hill and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Carlos and a sister Esperanza. The family would like to thank the staff at Mapleview Manor for all their compassionate care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 7, 2013, 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave. Hartford. Friends are asked to go directly to church.
