Mary H. Ficaro, 95, formerly of West Hartford, widow of Paul Ficaro, died Monday, June 8, 2015 in Middletown. She was born in New Britain, daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Haydash) Maliszewski and had lived in West Hartford for over 50 years. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked for G. Fox Department Store for over 25 years. She was a longtime communicant of SS Cyril & Methodius Church and a member of the Lady's Guild of the church. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Anderson and her husband Robert of Old Saybrook, and Paula Moran of Newington, two sons Paul J. Ficaro and his wife Paula of West Hartford, and Joseph D. Ficaro and his wife Sarah of Middletown; 10 loving grandchildren, Cynthia, Cheryl, Carol, Frederick, Paul, Matthew, Michelle, Nicholas, Justin and Ashley; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; 4 sisters, Helen Piersa of Newington, Theresa Bilodeau of Rocky Hill, Irene White of Berlin and Joanna Demling of Colorado. The family would like to thank the staff at Waters Edge for all their compassionate care. The funeral will be Thursday, 10:30 am from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpk., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. in SS .
