Mary (Cataldo) Jarvis, 95, a lifelong resident of Hartford peacefully passed on October 18, 2011 at Avery Heights Healthcare in Hartford. Born in Hartford, July 21, 1916 daughter of the late James and Isabella (Lombard) Cataldo, she attended Hartford schools graduating from Buckeley High School in 1935B. She worked at G. Fox & Co and later at the Campfield Avenue Library until her retirement at age 70. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 38 years Sidney Jarvis in 1974, her sister Antoinette Kraigenow of New Mexico and Dominick Cataldo of Manchester. She leaves behind her loving sister Genevieve Clair of Rocky Hill, a sister-in-law, Kittie Cataldo of Manchester, her nephews, Charles J. Stoppa, Jr. and his wife Terry of Newington, Philip Cataldo and his wife Susan of Georgia and her niece Virginia Cataldo of Florida, a great nephew Christopher Stoppa and his fiancée Lori Pascuzzi of Newington, a great niece Melissa Hayes and Steve of Wethersfield and her precious great great nephews Charlie Hayes and Paul Stoppa. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Lucy Swift 2nd floor and the Noble Building for their care of Mary at Avery Heights. The funeral will be Friday, October 21, 2011, 11:30 a.m. from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 12 p.m. (Noon) at Corpus Christi Church 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
