Mary R. Stevens, 83, of Wethersfield, wife of the late Michael Stevens, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Sebastiano and Gaetana (Monterosso) Privitera. Prior to her retirement, Mary was a court clerk GA 14 for the State of Connecticut for over 25 years. She was a longtime daily communicant of St. Augustine Church in Hartford, a former Vice President of the South End Ladies Democratic Club and a member of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. She is survived by her four sons, Michael Stevens of Hartford, Sebastian Stevens and his wife Roxanne of Wethersfield, Anthony Stevens of Manchester, and Daniel Stevens and his wife Carmela of Wethersfield. ten grandchildren, Gabriel, Nicholas, Michael, Joseph, Mark, Tony, Jennifer, Nicole, Melissa, and Aidan and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Jackson, two brothers Carmelo Privitera and his wife Lucy of Rocky Hill, Salvatore Pirvitera and his wife Dorothy of Florida and several nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Betty Stevens, her lifelong friends Nancy Silva, Mike Sarli, Harriet Stanek and Gloria Stieno. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary Gae Martocci. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 27th, 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours.
