Michael (Michele)
Zocco
Nov 24, 1946 — Mar 15, 2025
Wethersfield
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael (Michele) Zocco, 78, of Wethersfield, CT, on March 15th, 2025 he passed away with his beloved wife Mary (Kromidas) Zocco by his side. Michael was born in Canicattini Bagni, Sicily, the son of the late Vincenzo and Giuseppina (Sipala) Zocco. Michael lived in his homeland until 1972 when he traveled to Berlin, CT and joined his father who owned and ran a motel. Michael then met and married his wife Mary and they were just shy of celebrating 45 years together. They bought a home in Wethersfield and there they raised their three children.
In addition to his wife, Michael leaves behind his daughter Joanna Zocco Conti and her husband Dino, his son Michael Vincent Zocco and his wife Stephanie and his youngest daughter Mara Zocco. He was "Nonno" to his five grandchildren, Lorenzo Donato Conti, Luca Dean Conti, Liliana Marie Zocco, Emilia Ann Zocco and Victoria Josephine Zocco. In addition, Michael leaves behind his aunt Maria Agnello and uncle Michele Zocco along with numerous, cherished cousins in the states and abroad in Italy. He also leaves behind his brother in law Larry Kromidas and wife Pamela and sister in law Ann Bansley and husband Walter and four nephews. Michael was predeceased by his sister Sebastianella Zocco. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to an honest man who never turned anyone away who asked for help. He modeled to his children generosity and kindness in helping those around him, no matter what they asked. As an immigrant himself, he helped many that came after him get their feet on the ground in this country and no ask was too big. Michael was a long-time member of the Canicattinese Society where he could live a little bit of his hometown life. Michael stressed the importance of family and tradition to his children and we honor him by keeping that alive in our actions and through our children. Michael lived life to the fullest, knowing "you couldn't take anything with you" and we can rejoice in knowing that he is reunited and celebrating with his loved ones who have gone before him. Fino a quando ti rivedremo.
