Nicholas "Nick" Alexis, 71, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Irene (Souza) Alexis for 45 years, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born In Palaiohorion, Greece son of the late Dimitrios and Evdokia (Kantzios) Mitsalexakis and immigrated to the US in 1969. Nick was a self employed restaurateur for many years. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church in New Haven where he served as a cantor. He liked fishing, stamp collecting, history and storytelling. Besides his wife Irene he is survived by his daughter Christina Togias and her husband Dimitrios, and his son Emmanuel N. Alexis all of East Hartford. The funeral will be Monday, October 23rd, 11 AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Friends may call Sunday, October 22nd, from 2-4 PM at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield , with a Trisayion Service at 2:30 PM.
