Norman H. Shiembob, 82, of Wethersfield, passed away on September 12, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Louis and Wilma (Belaski) Shiembob. Norman was a veteran of the United States Army, and an avid athlete, excelling at running, baseball and basketball. He was an exceptional golfer and won several club championships at his beloved Goodwin Park. Norman was a member of the Church of The Incarnation and was a longtime member of Local 33 of the Steamfitters Union . He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Maryann (DeSanctis) Shiembob, his two sons, Stephen L. Shiembob and his wife Maureen of West Hartford, and Michael J. Shiembob of Wethersfield, and his grandson Nicholas Shiembob. Norman also leaves behind his brother Ronald Shiembob and his wife Janet of VA, and his sister Cynthia McCall and her husband Donald of Rocky Hill. The funeral will begin 9:15 AM, on Monday, September 18, from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM at the Church of The Incarnation, 544 Prospect St, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Friends may call Sunday, September 17, from 1-4 PM at the funeral home.
