Peter Padolko, 88, a long time resident of Hartford, passed away peacefully July 1, 2013. He was born in Russia. During the war he traveled to Austria, and then to Brazil for some time. He came to the United States in 1961 where he found work and raised a family. He became a citizen of the United States and was very proud to be an American. He retired from Fafnir Bearing Co. in Newington, where he worked for over 30 years. Once retired, Peter found things to do every day, from working on his and his family's cars to tending his garden. His neighbors will miss his Russian tomatoes and pickles. During the holidays, Peter was sure to have plenty of chocolates and other candies for his neighbors and his family; we always knew he would bring chocolates. He was a member of St. Panteleimon's Russian Orthodox Church. Peter will be dearly missed. He leaves his son Victor Padolko and his wife Izabela of Plainville, and his grandchildren: Victor of Maine, Peter and Elena Padolko of CT, three great grandchildren: Ivan, Lucy, and Brooklyn Padolko all of Maine. The funeral will be Friday, July 5, 2013 at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
