Philip G. Andrews, 90 of West Hartford, beloved husband of Sylvia (Leventis) Andrews (63 years), passed away peacefully Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was born in Lesbos, Greece, son of the late Gabriel and Erifily (Zannetos) Andrews and grew up in West Hartford.  He was a graduate of Boston University, a Veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War and a restaurateur for most of his life.  He raised his family in Wethersfield and was a lifelong member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Hartford.  His favorite hobby was telling stories over and over again.

Along with his wife, Phil is survived by his four children and their families; his son, Gary Andrews and wife, Melanie of Fairfield and his three daughters; Leah Andrews of Norcross, GA, Erah Andrews and Bobby Rich of Danielsville, GA and Irene Pia and husband, Thomas of Wethersfield. Phil absolutely adored his seven grandchildren; Alexa Tillinghast, David, Julia and Amelia Andrews, Halee Naughton, Lindsey and Zachary Pia. He is also survived by his brother, Mena Andrews and wife, Joanne of Newington along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The Andrews family would like to thank the staff of The Jefferson House for the exceptional care they provided Phil. He loved his time there. The funeral service will be Friday, September 24, 2021, 11:00 am, at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave. Hartford, CT 06114.  A calling hour will be held on Friday, at the church one hour prior to the service beginning at 10am. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
