Philip A. Pizzanello, 79, formerly of Newington and Hartford, passed peacefully Monday, March 16, 2015. He joins his beloved wife MaryAnn Galovich Pizzanello, who passed away in 2012. He was born and raised in Hartford, son of the late Anna and Dominic Pizzanello. Phil was an ardent supporter of the city of Hartford, thrilled to own and operate an office supply/stationary store, The Paper Chase on Pratt Street with his wife as his business partner. He was passionate about golf, and his involvement with the Greater Hartford Jaycees. He co-chaired the Insurance City Open in 1966, and continued to be the voice on the first tee for many years. He was also a member of Wethersfield Country Club for many years. He was the Regional Vice President of the National Office Products Association and was also affiliated with the Connecticut Valley Office Products Association and the New England Travelers Club. But Phil's greatest passion was for his family, and anyone who knew him knew how proud he was of his children. He leaves behind his daughter Diane and husband Peter Carabillo of Glastonbury, son Daniel and wife Jennifer Pizzanello of Granby, and daughter Jane Mastromarino of Glastonbury. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Jennifer, Philip, Dana, Sarah, Michael and Christopher, and great grandson Bruenn. Phil also leaves behind his sister, Marie Pizzanello Coburn, and was predeceased by his brother, Ronald.
