Rita E. Golden, of Newington, widow of Edward F. Golden, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. Born July 13, 1925 to the late Joseph and Luigia (Danna) Cotto. Rita volunteered and worked as a nursing assistant at the Newington Veterans Hospital for 47 years. She is survived by her daughters, Donna L. Crawford and her husband William of Colchester, and Deborah Zapor and her husband Dan of Hartford, two grandchildren and her adopted son, Joseph Canzanella of Newington. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Newington Rapid Recovery Rehab Center. The funeral will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 11 a.m. at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict, Bloomfield.
