Robert L. Hunt, 67, beloved husband for 42 years, of Margaret (Brindle) Hunt, died, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Hartford, son of the late George Oscar and Grace Lillian (Samplatsky) Hunt. He was raised in Warehouse Point and Rocky Hill and attended Rocky Hill High School. He moved to Wethersfield in 1973. Prior to his retirement, Bob worked for the State of CT D.O.T. for 33 years. He enjoyed fishing and boating on L.I. Sound with his friends and camping in New Hampshire and Maine with his wife Marge. He had an impressive garden and shared his bounty with his neighbors and friends. He loved to cook and was the family grill chef. He and Marge were married on January 24, 1970 and truly loved each other. He was a wonderful Poppa who cherished his grandchildren. Besides his wife he is survived by 3 daughters; Robin H. Kamansky and her husband John of Newington, Christi L. Maiese and her husband Mark of Middletown, and Bethany L. Hunt and David Lambe of Haddam, four grandchildren; Cheryl, Courtney and Brandon Kamansky and Tyler Maiese, a brother Herbert, 7 sisters; Ida Foraker and her husband James, Barbara Gill, Joyce Connors, Patricia Graves, Nancy Squires, Janice Hunt, Judy Prunier, many nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Gabriella Lynn Maiese and two brothers, Clifford and George and two sisters, Elizabeth and Shirley. He had a generous heart and offered his time and labor freely. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The funeral will be Saturday, March 24, 2012, 10 a.m. at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
