Robert J. O'Connor, 92, of Newington, husband of the late Elsie (Conlon) O'Connor, died, Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Hartford son of the late Jeremiah and Mary (Moran) O'Connor and had lived in Wethersfield for over 50 years. Prior to his retirement, Bob served as Police Lieutenant with the Hartford Police Department for over 25 years. He was U.S. Army veteran of WW II, a longtime communicant of Corpus Christi Church, a member of the Police Benevolent Association and the Hartford Police Veterans Association. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, June Mooney and Geraldine O'Connor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 20th, 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
