Robert W. Scully Sr., age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.  Robert was born in Hartford to the late Mark Francis Scully and Jennie Lee (Wallbeoff) and later resided in Plainville for 40 years. He was passionate about his work as a golf course superintendent and landscaper. Robert started as a caddie and worked his way up to become the Golf Course Superintendent at Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford, CT.  He was a founding partner of Northeastern Turf Corporation and later founded Eastern Irrigation Corp. His retirement years were spent as the owner of Scully Landscaping Inc.  Robert worked on projects ranging from commercial buildings to sports fields, to private gardens that were an oasis. An avid golfer and nearly scratch player, Robert enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and gardening, especially his beloved roses. Robert loved spending time with his family, particularly his children.

Robert will be forever missed by his children: Timothy Scully and wife Janet of Simsbury, CT, Suzanne and husband Jeff Locke of Nashua, NH, Paula Scully and husband Chris Genthner of Easton, PA; Robert W. Scully Jr. of Bloomfield; Melissa Scully of Farmington, CT and Cassandra Scully and husband Andrew Sabens of Knoxville, TN, as well as his 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Robert is predeceased by his loving parents and many brothers and sisters.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday June 30, 2021 from 9am - 11am at Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT 06109, with a funeral service beginning at 11am.
