Roberto A. Cano, 98, of New Britain, beloved husband of the late Gliceria (Leon) Cano, died, Tuesday, August 2, 2011. He was born in Ayacucho, Peru, son of the late Jose and Patrocinia (Sandoval) Cano. He immigrated to Hartford in 1981. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. He is survived by three sons, Edwardo and his wife Luz Cano of Bristol, Walter and his wife Estela Cano of New Britain, and Alfredo and his wife Gladis of Peru, two daughters, Angelica and her husband Rogelio Guerrero of Peru and Rosa Cano of Colchester, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday, August 5, 2011, 9 a.m. from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian, 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 79 New Park Ave. Hartford. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Visiting hours will be Thursday, August 4th, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Brittany Farms Health Center for all their compassionate care given to Roberto.
