Roosewelt Orbe Jr., 39, passed away on August 2, 2022. Roose ascended to heaven with "Papa Lindo" (as he lovingly referred to Jesus), surrounded by family. He is survived by his sons Roosevelt, Freddy, and  J'Roose; their mother Jackie; his parents Roosewelt Sr. & Yolanda (Gaby); his sister Lizzette; niece Jeilani, and a host of family and friends, including his aunt/second mom Tia Chela.

Born and raised in Hartford, Roose was a lover of Hip Hop music, fitted hats, sunglasses, giving people nick names, and his cure for everything: Ginger Ale. An avid fan and player of all sports, his favorite teams were the New York Knicks and the Las Vegas Raiders. He would tell anyone who would listen how great of a tennis player he was in his younger years and had no issues with challenging them to a pool game. His favorite athletes were his three sons. He cheered them on and always gave them his fatherly feedback while cracking jokes about how much better he was at their age.

One thing that brought him immense joy was spending quality time with family. The biggest goof ball at family gatherings, you had no choice but to smile and laugh your hardest whenever he was around. Even though he had a rough exterior, Roose was a big teddy bear who was gentle and tender. To know him was to love him, and to be loved by him was everything! Roose loved hard and would give his loved ones his very last. Though he is gone from our side, his memory and spirit will live on forever.
