SHARPE, Ruth G. (Bannon) Ruth G. (Bannon) Sharpe, 95, beloved wife for 68 years of Thomas B. Sharpe, died, Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in Stuart, FL. She was born in Wethersfield, daughter of the late James Elmer Bannon and Prudence (Belden) Bannon. Ruth was a resident of Florida, Wethersfield and summered at Cedar Island, Clinton. Prior to her retirement, she worked for Travelers Insurance Company for 23 years. Ruth was a life member of First Church of Christ, Wethersfield. She was a graduate of Wethersfield High School Class of 1933, excelling in athletics; she was captain of the baseball team, a tennis champion and an avid golfer. She also enjoyed square dancing with her husband. Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters, Jeannine Adam of Stuart, Fl, Gayle Bates of Weymouth, MA and Marilyn Garvin and her husband Barry of Gloucester, MA, a son Thomas J. Sharpe of Wethersfield, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Fersch and a brother, Mahlon Bannon.
