Simone (Desautels) Jensen, 91 of Wethrsfield, beloved widow of Raymond Jensen, died peacefully Monday, August 12, 2013. She was born in Putnam, CT daughter of the late Omar and Anna (Trahan) Desautels and had lived in and had lived in Hartford before moving to Wethersfield in 1967. Simone had worked for Arrow Hart & Hegeman for several years and more recently Bradlees Department Store. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Guild of St. Theresa and The Wethersfield Senior Club. She was an avid gardener and grew a wonderful vegetable garden. She loved to travel and her grandchildren were most precious to her. She is survived by her daughter Carol Skarzynski and her husband John of Wethersfield, her son-in-law Kevin O'Connor of Monroe, GA, Six grandchildren, David (Sabina) Skarzynski, of Rocky Hill, Andrew (Catherine) Skarzynski of West Hartford, Matthew (Kelly) Skarzynski of Wethersfield, Mark (Lisa) Skarzynski of Portsmouth, NH, Julie (Christopher) Lepp of Bel Air, MD and Eileen (Steven) White of Marietta, GA. 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Jane O'Connor and four sisters and a brother. The family would like to thank Hughes Health & Rehab for all their compassionate care given to Simone.The funeral will be Friday, August 16, 2013, 9:15 a.m. from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 56 Hartford Ave. Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery.
