Stefan Bidoae, 80 of Hartford, CT beloved husband of Rada (Grosu) Bidoae passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Hartford Hospital. Stefan was born in Plopeni, Romania and was the son of the late Marin and Ioana (Ciolacu) Bidoae. Stefan taught History for over 20 years.  He then decided he wanted to travel and became a mechanic on merchant ships and was able visit over 20 countries during his journey.  He left Romania under communist rule in hopes of a better life for his family and settled in the Unites States in 1990.  He was a devoted father and an avid reader, as well as enjoying crossword puzzles.  He enjoyed fishing, playing backgammon with his friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

Stefan is survived by his son Daniel and his wife Monica and their two children Alice and Sebastian, his daughter Iuliana Guerrera and her husband Luigi Guerrera and their three daughters Gianna, Sofia and Daniela, his brother Nelu Bidoae and his sister Maria Lazar.

Funeral service for Stefan will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 11:30 am at Holy Transfiguration Romanian Orthodox Church, 2 Winter St., Manchester, CT. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Relatives and friends may call at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT, Wednesday from 9 am to 10:30 am.
