Stella (DiDonato) Rzewnicki, 90, of Hartford, beloved widow of Stephen Rzewnicki, died, Friday, February 17, 2017. She was born with a heart of gold in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Christina (Gallinoto) DiDonato. Prior to her retirement, Stella worked for Futuramik Industries for 35 years, later she worked for Max Bibo's Delicatessen. She was a communicant of St. Luke's Church and also sang in the choir. Stella was a very proud member of the "Mixed Nuts" group. She is survived by her two daughters Gloria-Jean Mittica and her husband Ralph of West Hartford, and Alexandria "Sandra" McCarty and her husband Kevin of Newington. Stella also leaves behind her five grandchildren Gina Pretak and husband Tomee, Scott McCarty and partner Kristen, Suzanne Mittica and spouse Jennifer Corwin, Tracy Martocchio and husband Stephen, and Peter Mittica and wife Jill; her nine great-grandchildren Ryan, Kira, Anthony, Vincent, Samuel, Andrew, Matthew, Tyler and Stella; her two brothers, Joseph "Yogi" DiDonato of Hartford, and John DiDonato and his wife Patricia of Manchester; her two sisters Catherine Hamel and Lucy Dolgoruck, both of Hartford, and several nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by four brothers, Thomas, Anthony, Rocco, and Daniel, and three sisters Minnie, Millie and Connie. The funeral will begin Wednesday, February 22, 9:15 AM at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow, 10 AM, at St. Luke's Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
