Stephen Joseph Tosti, age 53, died on April 23, 2015 in Leticia, Amazonas, Colombia. He grew up in East Hartford, CT graduating from East Catholic High School (class of 1979). Upon retirement from the US Postal Service, he moved to Florida and volunteered for many non-profit organizations including Locks of Love, Camp Good Grief and the Red Cross Disaster Relief. Steve, who had a heart of gold, had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. He lived for several years in Boca Raton, Florida, before moving to Costa Rica and then, most recently, he lived in Medellin, Colombia. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph James Tosti. He is survived by his mother, Maureen Coleman Tosti; his brother, James Tosti and his wife, Karen Zessin Tosti; and his sister, Patricia Tosti, and her wife, Ginger Johnson. He is also survived by his nephew, Justin Tosti, and his niece, Jessica Tosti, both of whom he absolutely adored. Uncle Stevie, as he was known, had a large extended family and many friends all over the world. A memorial service will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit at 183 Church Street Newington, CT at 11am on Saturday, May 16th, 2015. A burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT will follow. In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made in Steve's honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice.
