Stillman H. Rogers, 84, husband of Barbara (Howard) Rogers passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Waterford on November 15, 1926, the son of the late Louis and Elsie (Richardson) Rogers. The family resided in Wethersfield for 35 years before moving to Bloomfield 6 years ago. Stillman was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud member of U.S. Submarine Veterans of WWII. He was a 52 year member of Sequin-Level Lodge No. 140, AF and AM, Newington, and a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Hartford. He had been employed at Northeast Utilities Service Co. In addition to his wife of 50 years, he leaves his two daughters, Elsie L. Rogers of Bloomfield, and Grace R. Zapor and her husband Robert, of Southbury, two adored and much loved grandchildren, Janet and Kevin Zapor, and a sister-in-law Grace H. Wood and her husband William of Suffield. A funeral Service will be held Monday, May 2, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpk. Wethersfield, with The Rev. Canon Wilborne A. Austin, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
