Robles
Jun 15, 1931 — Aug 18, 2024
Hartford
Tomasa Robles, 93, of Hartford, CT passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, August 19, 2024. Tomasa spent her last days staring at her collection of religious Saints and Christian figurines in her bedroom, which brought peace and comfort. Tomasa was born in Orocovis, PR and was the daughter of the late Mariano and Antolina (Ortiz) Torres. She moved her family to CT in 1963. As her children got older, she worked many years in nurseries and tobacco fields in Windsor, CT. Tomasa lived her last years in Sana Apartments, where she was respected and loved by tenants and staff. She was known in the neighborhood as the lady that was seen taking long walks; going to cash her check, play her lottery numbers.
Tomasa was a kind, caring, loving and generous woman who extended help to anyone. She lived a simple life and was content with what she had. She was a twin and made yearly trips to Puerto Rico to visit her sister and family before becoming ill. Tomasa enjoyed taking trips with her daughter to the casinos, cooking for family, playing the lottery, watching tele novelas, and by the end of her life, she loved popping bubble wraps. Tomasa loved her spanish dishes such as arroz con gandules, bacalao, sardines, arenka and vianda. She also enjoyed pizza, chicken wings, lasagna and egg rolls. Tomasa did not have an easy life but she was full of love. She will be deeply, deeply missed by everyone who crossed her path.
Tomasa leaves behind three children, Victor Robles and his wife Monica of Wethersfield, daughter Maria "Cruzita" Rodriguez, of Hartford, daughter Maria "Rosa" Robles and life partner Ralph of East Hartford. She also leaves many grandchildren including, Jeannette Rodriguez, Oscar Robles, William Adorno, Jasmine Adorno, Victor Robles Jr., Edna Robles, Jose Javier Robles, Damaris Robles, Jenny Robles, Raphael Robles Jr., Ricardo Robles, Reynaldo Robles, Lydiana Robles, Jessica Robles, Ricky Robles, Raymon Robles Jr., and Joshua Robles. She also leaves many loving great grandchildren, Madelyn Robles, Oscar Robles Jr., Madelyn C. Robles, Jai'lan Robles, Jayden Robles, Nathaniel Saez and Naylee Saez, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
