Umberto V. Parente, 76, of East Hartford, passed away on May 30, 2016. Born in Sassano, Italy, son of the late Nicola and Francesca Camilla (Crisci) Parente. Umberto was in the United States Air Force and later became a barber for over fifty years. He was an avid sports fan, especially rooted for the Boston Red Sox. Umberto loved golfing, bowling, and enjoyed playing cards. He is survived by his two sons, Nicholas A. Parente and his wife Melissa of Wethersfield, and Michael S. Parente of East Hartford, his daughter Camilla R. Parente of Wethersfield, and his grandson Kevin F. Parente of New Britain. He also leaves behind his brother Nicola Parente of Ohio, his two sisters Iola Biancamano of Hartford, and Pina Ricchi of Florida, his companion Barbara Gardner of East Hartford and several nieces and nephews. Umberto was predeceased by his brother Lorenzo Parente and his sister Angelina Coiro. The funeral service will be held at 11AM, Thursday June 2, at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home. 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 2, from 9-11AM prior to the funeral.
