MILLER-LASSELLE, Valerie Valerie Miller-Lasselle, 61, of Hartford, died peacefully on Wednesday (May 18, 2010) at Hartford Hospital. She leaves her memories to be cherished by her devoted husband Michael Lasselle, her precious granddaughter (her baby girl), Chelsea Jaylen Miller, her loving brother, Glenn Miller, stepson Michael Taylor (Wife Jenny) and children (Nathan, Jordan, Christian, Mikaela and Mariah) two nephews whom she loved dearly, Marlow and Tyon Shepard, her honorary daughters Deneen Silvers-Maylor and Tammy Chee-You Smith and her cats Molly and Onyx. Valerie was one of the most caring and loving people you could meet and she always gave graciously to others. She enjoyed cooking, baking, going to the beach and to the casino as well as spending time with her family and friends. Valerie was employed by the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital for over 22 years before retiring in 2008. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Evelyn Miller, brother Jay Miller and her loving daughter Sharilyn Miller. Funeral services will be held on Thursday (May 27, 2010) 1 p.m. at Dillon & Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday (prior to the funeral) at 11-1 p.m. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff on Bliss 5 at Hartford Hospital for the professional and excellent care given to Valerie.
