Valeriu Mircea Emilian, 63, of Wethersfield, husband of Elena (Urdriste) Emilian, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 9, 2022. He was born in Bucharest, Romania, son of the late Aureliu Emilian and Sofia Gheorghe. He immigrated to the US with his family in 1990.

Vava, as he was known to his family and friends was an avid soccer fan and a diehard "Stelist". Hai Steaua!!! He enjoyed many sports including tennis, fishing and soccer. He was funny, charismatic and always the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by his family, especially his three grandchildren whom he adored.

Besides his wife Elena, he is survived by his daughter, Andreea Emilian-Stergiotis and her husband Dimitrios of Wethersfield, and his grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary and Isabella.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, September 16, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield. A Trisayion service will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, 12:30 pm at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT with the Rev. Dr. George Zugravu officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
