Veli Bici, 81, of Hartford, husband of Hatice (Gjoka) Bici, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019. He was born in Diber, Albania, son of the late Abaz and Xhele (Llagjaci) Bici. After completing his studies at the University of Tirana, Veli went on to become an Albanian linguist and etymologist, working for the Albaninan Academy of Sciences and People's Assembly (Former Albanian Parliament). He later achieved his PhD becoming a doctor of science.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Genti Bici and his wife Esenia, of Astoria, NY and Artan Bici and his wife Valentina of Rome, Italy. Veli also leaves behind his three grandchildren Arianna, Nora and Nicholas and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and his sister.
The funeral service will be Saturday, December 21, 2019, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. A reception will follow at Elaine's Restaurant, 1841 Berlin Tpk. Wethersfield, CT 06109.
