Vivian L. Kampe, 87, of West Hartford, CT passed away October 11th, 2018. She was born on June 29, 1931 in Bridgeport, CT to Gottfred Olson and Anna (Swanson) Olson. "Vivi" was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a friend to many, many people. She was a 1949 graduate of Newington High School, and married her high school sweetheart Robert "Bob" Kampe in 1953. One of her first jobs was as a receptionist at the headquarters of a downtown Hartford bank. She also helped out making flower arrangements at the Kampe family florist shop, and later worked as a legal secretary for many years at Apter, Sackter, Fleish in East Hartford, and Francis and Armentano in West Hartford. She lost Bob, the love of her life in July 2017 after nearly 64 years of marriage, and was also predeceased by an infant son, Fred M. Kampe, in 1954. Vivi loved to cook, she loved to dance, and most of all she loved her family and friends. She is survived by her son Bruce and daughter-in-law Ruth, her son Brandon, her grandchildren Matthew and Sarah, as well as her sister-in-law Paula Lawyer and her husband Don.
