Walter S. Krepcio, Sr. was born on July 19, 1922 in Hartford and passed away on November 3, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Lasiewicki Krepcio and children Walter Jr. (Nita Maihle, PhD), Thomas (Laurie), Anne Morgan (Ben) and their children Elizabeth and Catherine Morgan. Walter was predeceased by his parents Anthony Krepcio, Sr. and Anna Nitkiewicz Krepcio, brothers Anthony Jr., John, Joseph, Stanley and sister Helen Zysk and premature son John Henry. Walter loved and served his family, his church, his country and his community. Walter was active at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church where he served as a Trustee, Holy Name President, committee chairman for many fundraising projects and Eucharistic Minister. Walter is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and retired from Industrial Safety Supply Company. Walter and his wife were 20 year volunteers at Hartford Hospital and were honored in 2003 for their volunteer work as the Hartford Hospital Highlights Couple of the Year and by the Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance as a Top 10 Volunteer. Visiting hours will be today, November 5, 5-7 PM at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 6, 10 AM in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford. Burial with full military honors will follow in the State Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown.
